Chelsey and Alex tied the knot at the gorgeous Mythe Barn Wedding Venue, nestled in the Leicestershire countryside. With its blend of modern elegance and rural charm, it offered the perfect setting for a relaxed, romantic celebration. From the moment the sun rose over Sheepy Magna, this day was full of meaning, laughter, and little moments of magic.
A Glimpse Into Their Day
Chelsey began her morning in the beautiful bridal suite at Mythe Barn, surrounded by her bridesmaids. The atmosphere was light and joyful, with laughter echoing through the room and the occasional tear as the reality of the day set in. With Hair by Diana and Glam by Becky, Chelsey looked absolutely radiant, glowing with calm confidence.
Meanwhile, Alex arrived at the venue and got ready with his groomsmen. Their morning was full of banter, buttonholes, and steady nerves. Everyone was ready for a day they’d all been looking forward to for so long.
Their ceremony, held in Mythe Barn’s stunning Oak Barn, was intimate and deeply personal. Although no photography was allowed during the ceremony, the emotion in the room was palpable. Quiet tears, beaming smiles, and the kind of connection that fills a room- it was truly special.
After the ceremony, guests spilled into the courtyard for fizz and confetti. (Yes, Chelsey and Alex nailed the confetti moment- it was glorious.) We used this time for a handful of relaxed group photos and then gave the couple space to enjoy time with their guests.
As golden hour set in, we slipped away for some quiet portraits just the two of them. The evening light bathed the barn in warmth, and their connection made every frame feel effortless.
Their Story
Chelsey and Alex first connected the modern way- Instagram! Chelsey slid into Alex’s DMs and, in her words, “they were the only dates I enjoyed.” From that point on, the rest was history.
Their engagement took place in one of their favourite spots- the sand dunes of Wales. Just the two of them, their pup (in a backpack, of course), and a perfect moment by the sea. Intimate, meaningful, and completely them.
Planning the Day
Choosing Mythe Barn was easy. The venue was calm, beautiful, and full of little signs that made it feel right, including two magpies on the fence when they first visited. (If you know Chelsey, you know how important that was.) The all-in-one nature of the venue also made planning simpler and stress-free.
Their vision for the day? Relaxed, joyful, and surrounded by all the people they love most, with no pressure and no fuss. Every detail, from DIY decor to carefully chosen accessories, reflected their personalities.
Advice for Other Couples
Chelsey and Alex’s top tip for others planning their wedding was:
“Enjoy it and get crafty! Vinted, markets, and car boots are wonderful!”
They poured a lot of love into the little details and it made the day even more personal.
Capturing the Day
We worked closely in the lead-up to create a group shot list that kept things smooth and stress-free, focusing on key moments with family, while still giving them time to relax and enjoy their drinks and hugs after the ceremony.
They built in time for private moments with parents, space to breathe before the reception, and kept their energy for the evening celebrations. Their group photos included close family and their fun wedding parties- all taken with a relaxed, natural flow.
As the sun set, guests gathered for speeches (five of them!) and a warm, candlelit meal. Later, Alex Norman brought the music, Scott Grainger got everyone dancing, and the Burbage Booth Co captured the laughs behind the scenes.
The cake by Kats Cakes, flowers from Val, and thoughtful DIY details made the space feel like home.
