Jag and Zoe tied the knot at the beautiful Hazel Gap Barn in Nottinghamshire, a venue they fell in love with the moment they drove in. With its blend of rustic charm, warmth, and timeless elegance, it was the perfect setting for a celebration that beautifully merged both English and Punjabi traditions.
A Glimpse Into Their Day
The morning began at Bumblebee Barn, where Zoe and her bridal party prepared for the day ahead. Hair and makeup were in full swing from 8am, and Zoe was ready just in time for a smooth journey over to Hazel Gap Barn, arriving just before the 1:30pm ceremony.
Meanwhile, Jag arrived around 12:30pm, greeting guests and soaking in the build-up. The ceremony itself was full of emotion and joy, a perfect reflection of their love story.
Following the ceremony, the couple enjoyed drinks and hugs with friends and family during the afternoon reception, before being welcomed into the barn for their wedding breakfast and speeches.
As the evening rolled in, the party really began. Two incredible Dhol drummers kicked off the evening reception with energy and flair, blending seamlessly with the DJ’s set and the couple’s grand entrance. The cake was cut, the first dance was shared, and the dance floor didn’t slow down for a second.
Their Story
Jag and Zoe first met at work, and as Zoe puts it, she made him work for it! After some persuasive charm from Jag, they finally had their first date ice skating, (despite Jag having a torn ACL at the time.)
Their engagement took place in Mexico, on a stunning eco-island Jag had arranged as a surprise. Though Zoe suspected something early in the holiday, by the time the proposal came on week two it was the perfect, unexpected moment.
They’ve always known they wanted their wedding to reflect both of their cultures, and weaving together English and Punjabi traditions was incredibly meaningful to them, even if it meant navigating some new territory for both sides.
Planning the Day
After months of venue hunting, Hazel Gap Barn was the one that made them both stop and say “wow.” With guests travelling from London and Leicester, it was also the perfect central spot.
Their wedding planning advice?
“Try not to buy into the idea that wedding planning is stressful- it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. Be organised, make a manageable to-do list, and celebrate the day of the month you’ll be getting married in the run-up to the big day. For us, doing something fun on the 4th of each month really helped us stay excited.”
Capturing the Day
I was honoured to be part of Jag and Zoe’s celebration and document the laughter, culture, colour, and connection of their big day. We worked together to plan all the moments they wanted to capture and organise group shots ahead of time, so that on the day everything ran smoothly.
You can see some of the shots from their wedding below.
Thank you both so much for having me, and massive congratulations on such a heartfelt and fun wedding at Hazel Gap Barn!
