Sam and Abbie tied the knot at the beautiful Swancar Farm Country House: a rustic gem nestled in the Nottinghamshire countryside. With its rolling fields, charming brickwork, and romantic indoor spaces, it was the perfect spot for a wedding that felt effortless, warm, and completely them.
A Glimpse Into Their Day
Abbie spent the night on-site at Swancar, starting her morning in the Stables before moving up to the Bridal Suite. Surrounded by her bridesmaids, the atmosphere was calm and full of warmth, with a few happy tears and plenty of excitement in the air.
Sam arrived shortly after Abbie’s move to the suite and spent the morning getting ready with their wedding party. The vibe was relaxed and full of laughter, with a buzz of anticipation as the day unfolded.
With everything taking place on-site, the day flowed beautifully. Their ceremony in The Gallery was heartfelt and emotional, with personal vows, and that unmistakable thrill just before walking down the aisle.
After the ceremony, guests spilled into the courtyard for fizz and hugs, soaking up the joy while we captured some relaxed group photos with their nearest and dearest. As golden hour arrived, we snuck away with just the two of them for some portraits. The light was perfect, and their connection made every frame feel effortless.
Later in the evening, the courtyard came alive with music, dancing, and the kind of energy that only happens when two people are surrounded by all their favourite people. The cake was cut, the first dance was shared, and from there… let’s just say the dance floor didn’t stay empty for long.
Their Story
Sam and Abbie first met through a mutual friend, but the real story began when Abbie (working at the pub at the time) kept topping up Sam’s pint. “Something weird happened that evening, my pint glass never seemed to empty – Abbie had spent the evening keeping my pint very full only to turn around at closing and say “Well you can’t drive home now, you might as well stay with me”.”
A week later, Sam flew off to Amsterdam with a hangover and a very full heart.
They’ve been inseparable ever since.
Planning the Day
They chose Swancar for its charm, location, and convenience, being close to Abbie’s family, and roughly halfway for Sam’s. The venue ticked every box: countryside views, a gorgeous ceremony space, and an all-in-one vibe that meant no one needed to stress about travel.
Their advice for other couples?
“Take things slow. Don’t rush into decisions”
Capturing the Day
Sam and Abbie made sure their day was full of time to actually be with each other. We worked closely in the run-up to make sure everything flowed naturally- group photos were kept relaxed and minimal, with a list they shared in advance to keep things moving.
They even included a few special touches like private moments with parents, space to breathe before the reception, and a beautiful confetti moment just after the ceremony.
It was a total joy to capture every hug, laugh, and quiet glance between them.
