A beautiful same sex wedding in Grantham – Ash and Kevin

When Ash and Kevin first got in touch with me about their wedding, I was so thrilled – they were planning a romantic traditional wedding with a humanist ceremony and drinks in the garden for the reception. Ash and Kevin are the most fun people and I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding!

The excitement before the wedding

I started at Harlaxton Manor, where the grooms were getting ready together, and it was so chilled out, because everyone was in a good mood. Ash wore A stunning 3 piece suit with white jacket and waist coat and Kevin wore a matching suit and they looked really incredible.

The ceremony

The wedding took place at the great hall, and was a beautiful ceremony. They had all the guests pass their rings around to warm them, which was so unique. After the ceremony they walked down the aisle together, and then we went and did some beautiful portraits.

The reception

The wedding reception took place in the long gallery, which was full of the most amazing table settings. It was so stunning.

It was a beautifully sunny day, which was perfect for photos. While the guests enjoyed drinks at the bar, we wandered around the venue doing fun and creative portraits. My favourite photo from the portraits is the smoke bomb shot with the groomsmen party. Check it out below!

During the reception they had drinks at the bar, which gave the afternoon a really chilled vibe. For the wedding breakfast they had proper wedding grub, and it was loved by all the guests. Afterwards, everyone migrated to the bar and the photobooth kept everyone entertained all evening. They also had a live band, which was a huge hit.
